Cub Haunted at Camp Ho Non Wah: A Spooktacular Success!
Greetings from the shores of the Bohicket, where little ghosts, goblins, and plenty of brave scouts come to play! The annual Cub Haunted event, hosted by the Order of the Arrow, once again brought the perfect mix of thrills, chills, and family fun to Camp Ho Non Wah. This much-anticipated event continues to be a highlight of the Cub Scout calendar, drawing in scouts, leaders, and families for a night they won’t soon forget.
Cub Haunted is more than just a simple haunted house experience—it's a full evening packed with adventure, laughter, and memories that will last a lifetime. Scouts and their families were treated to a variety of Halloween-themed activities that catered to all levels of bravery, making it the perfect outing for even the youngest Cub Scouts.
The Frightful Festivities
The evening kicked off with scouts donning their best Halloween costumes. From superheroes to spooky skeletons and everything in between, the creativity on display was fantastic! The festivities began with a thrilling haunted house experience, carefully crafted by the Order of the Arrow. Each room was filled with surprises, ghostly scenes, and just the right amount of fright to keep the scouts on their toes.
The haunted trail, set deep in the woods of Camp Ho Non Wah, was another favorite. As scouts ventured through the winding paths, they encountered all sorts of eerie sights and sounds, making for an unforgettable adventure. For those seeking a more laid-back experience, the hayride offered a fun and scenic way to take in the spooky camp atmosphere, with plenty of pumpkins and friendly “ghosts” waving along the way.
Adventure Activities and More!
In addition to the haunted attractions, Cub Haunted featured plenty of fun activities to keep the scouts entertained. The slingshot station was a big hit, giving the young adventurers a chance to test their aim and hit spooky targets. Scouts also enjoyed various games and challenges that kept their spirits high throughout the evening.
As the excitement wound down, families gathered together for a cozy outdoor movie under the stars. With ice cream and cookies in hand and blankets to snuggle under, it was the perfect way to end a fun-filled night. Laughter and chatter filled the air as scouts reflected on their favorite moments from the evening.
A Community Event to Remember
Cub Haunted 2024 was a massive success, thanks to the incredible effort and dedication of the Order of the Arrow, the troop leaders, and the many volunteers who helped bring the
event to life. The creativity, enthusiasm, and teamwork were evident at every turn, from the elaborate haunted house decorations to the carefully planned activities.
